Nickel alloy MIG welding wire is a type of welding wire that is used for welding nickel-based alloys. Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy (about 67% Ni – 23% Cu) that is resistant to sea water and steam at high temperatures as well as to salt and caustic solutions.
Monel 400 has corrosion resistant properties against flowing sea-water and is extensively used for marine applications. Alloy 400 is also extremely resistant to stress corrosion cracking in most freshwaters. Alloy 400 is used in steam generators, feedwater heaters, cladding of offshore installations, pump and propeller shafts, marine fixtures and fasteners, also chemical processing equipments.
