Controlled Expansion Alloy 42/FeNi42   

Alloy 42, also known as FeNi42, is an iron-Nickel Alloy with a low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). It is composed of 41-43% nickel and 57-59% iron, with trace amounts of other elements such as carbon, manganese, silicon, and sulfur.

Alloy 42 is commonly used in applications where dimensional stability and reliability are critical, such as in electronic components, precision instruments, and aerospace systems. Its low CTE makes it ideal for use in applications where materials need to maintain their shape and size over a wide range of temperatures.

Alloy 42 can be easily machined, welded, and formed into various shapes and sizes. It has good corrosion resistance, high electrical conductivity, and excellent magnetic properties, making it suitable for use in magnetic shielding applications.

A nickel-iron controlled-expansion alloy containing 41% nickel. It has a low and nominally constant coefficient of thermal expansion from room temperature to about 300°C. Used for glass-to-metal sealing of components that are enclosed in a glass envelope, such as lamps and electron tubes.
